Our Mission
Lucid Chocolatier focuses on sourcing the best organic beans from Peru, and bringing them to New Zealand to create what we believe is the most unique craft chocolate on the market. Our standards are extremely high, and our processes are both considered and meticulous.
Our Head Chocolate Maker, Johnty Tatham is extremely passionate about his mission to showcase what artisanal chocolate making is all about. Having studied both in New Zealand and USA, worked as a pastry chef and chocolatier, and being a gold medal competitive chef, Johnty is excited to share his take on craft chocolate with you.
We have prepared three collections for you to showcase creativity across all aspects of the chocolate making process. We hope you enjoy exploring the Lucid approach to chocolate making.
Purist Collection
The Purist collection is inspired by makers around the globe and delves deep into the intricate world of dark chocolate making. Devoted to true dark chocolate lovers, it aims to explore technical aspects of the production process in pursuit of the best and most pure chocolate possible.
Inquisitive Collection
The Inquisitive collection is for the curious chocolate lover and explores alternative approaches to traditional chocolate making. It draws on an array of knowledge gained over the years by the maker, with the ambition to put forward spins on cult classics and brave new flavours alike.
Finite Collection
The finite collection features truly unique and one of a kind combinations as well as limited runs of timeless flavours. Ideas that speak to the maker will be shared with Lucid’s customer base on a limited basis for short windows throughout the year. First release of these bars is early 2021.
